Vancouver Craft Beer Week Recap

A few weeks ago we saw the long awaited return of Vancouver Craft Beer Week. With VCBW being one of, if not the premiere craft beer festival in BC, there was a ton of hype leading up to this year’s event. For starters, the COVID-19 pandemic had forced organizers to cancel the fest for the past two years, so BC beer fans were eager to make up for lost time. Secondly, it was now being spearheaded by FEASTER who are responsible for big name Vancouver events like Hopscotch, The (Deighton) Cup, and more. By all accounts, it was going to be one heck of a party.

But when it came down to execution, this year’s festival had some major flaws. While the brewery lineup and beer list was excellent as always, the introduction of a token-less payment system and a serious staffing shortage caused a slew of issues that left a bitter taste in the mouths of many.

On our latest episode of The Dregs Podcast we detailed our 2022 Vancouver Craft Beer Week experience… the good and the bad. Listen to “So You Wanted to Go to a Festival”, and check out our photo journal below!
